Safety First |
All our staff are up to date with first aid practice and most have a formal first aid qualification. Staff members that will be working with young or vulnerable people are checked periodically with the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). |
As design is the best risk mitigation method, we make use of equipment that is designed to be safe – harnesses that are simple to use and automatically lock, karabiners with duplicated locking systems, hydraulic belaying systems whose failure modes are designed to “fail safe” and are fully documented, etc. |
Our operating processes are fully documented, as are the operating risks associated with the climbing wall. Of course, each venue has very specific risks and if required, we can work with your risk management staff to integrate your specific, local risks with our operating risks to generate a cohesive approach. |
An aggressive approach is followed with respect to equipment damage – damaged equipment is rendered unusable and discarded. |
Copies of staff qualifications, our processes and our risk assessment sheets can be made available upon request. |
We provide all the safety equipment required and fully qualified operators, backed off with a £5million public liability insurance policy. Our operation is regulated under UK Health & Safety Executive endorsed voluntary guidelines and our climbing wall is a fully certified and tested amusement device as defined under the Amusement Device Inspection Procedures Scheme (ADIPS). Our climbing wall and the associated accessories undergo a series of inspections to ensure that the climbers using the wall remain safe at all times. Further details can be found here |
